Storioni Violin

1786 Model

Made for Joanne de Groot

March 2011

Joanne's Kanji basically translates as 'string - instrument - together - perform'.

The middle two symbols can also be read as 'enjoyable - to meet'.  The first and last brush marks (radicals) mean 'bow' and 'heaven'.

I am deeply touched to have received such a beautiful and personal thank you.

A Client Perspective

Commissioning a violin

'I played Jo's violin last night and you are to be congratulated.  I was most impressed with your work and the excellent varnish.

Your violin had the quality of the  Rogeri I played last week - the sound is very immediate and has the quality that I like in Italian instruments.'
